The Papua New Guinean Discovery

Between June 2, 2005 and August 7, 2005 I went to Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators. It was a time when God confirmed that He wants me there for His work. At the time I am a student at Davis College in New York State studying and preparing to go back to PNG full time.

The closest I have been to Heaven

Dear Friends, Relatives, and Supporters,

This weekend was amazing! Amazing really does not describe how
wonderful the time was. I think it was the closest thing to Heaven I
have ever experienced. The people we stayed with in the village of
Ihoa were such an example of what it means to be a true Christian.
Their servant hood put most of us to shame. The fire of Christ in
their eyes, wow! These people had killed Christians when they first
came to bring the good news and now they are on Fire for Christ in love
with Him and showing the love of Christ ever moment of ever day! All
of us were in almost in tears when we left. The people were so
wonderful. It would be my prayer that the Christians of America would
get that kind of fire! I can't wait to come back to PNG full time!
Others felt the same way. The food was great and the people ministered
to us. I guess we ministered to them by just being there. We all
tried to help out to work with them, if they would let us. We swam and
bathed in a tropical river and had a blast! The children were servants
as well. They loved to play too. We played much with the kids who you
would just want to hug! It was a wonderful time beyond anything I can
begin to put to words. Wednesday (here) we leave for Ukarumpa. Some
leave for a village tomorrow. But most of us are leaving Wednesday
flying out. Be in prayer for all of us as we get split up. 12 days
from now I leave for the Neil and Carol Anderson's village and work
with them for 3 weeks! I hope all is going well in the States. Things
couldn't be better here! I am going to miss leaving PNG when the time
comes. It feels like home here. Well God bless. Send emails to me at
discovery05@sil.org.pg I love to read emails.

Corey
