The Papua New Guinean Discovery

Between June 2, 2005 and August 7, 2005 I went to Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators. It was a time when God confirmed that He wants me there for His work. At the time I am a student at Davis College in New York State studying and preparing to go back to PNG full time.

May 2005 Prayer Letter

"This generation of Christians is responsible for this generation of souls on the earth!" ~Keith Green

Greetings in the unparalleled, unrivaled name of Jesus Christ the King of kings and Lord of lords.

It is almost time for me to leave for Papua New Guinea. As of today (May 17) I have 17 days left before I leave on June 2. Wow! Time does fly and soon it will be time to fly. This will most likely be the last newsletter that I write until after the trip. Make sure I have your email address so that I can send updates to you when I am in PNG. I will try to send a message out when I get to LA on June 2, but after that I will not be able to send emails until around the 21st of June. Well onto some news.

To start with, this past Sunday I had the privilege of speaking at West Groton Bible Church. Mark Broderick is the pastor of this fine church. I had the opportunity to share my burden for the lost people of PNG with them and I shared with them the PowerPoint presentation I had made. The church took a love offering which was given to my trip to PNG. Thank you so much West Groton and may you continue to grow in your love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Keep up the good work there.

In terms of the financial aspect of the trip, the funds are almost all in. I should have a better idea very soon. If you would like to continue to send money to me for the trip as I am in PNG feel free. There are still small bills not covered in Wycliffe’s total. If you have, any questions feel free to contact me and I would be happy to give you more details. The last total I have received showed that I had $858 left to be raised. Since then the total has been going down as other checks go down to Wycliffe. If by Thursday, you would like another total to see how I am doing feel free to email me.

As I have been preparing for the trip I have been reading book In Search of the Source by Neil Anderson. Our group will be working with him and his wife in Papua New Guinea. They have been with the Folopa people for over 30 years. They have finished the book of Genesis and the New Testament and now they are working on finishing the Old Testament for this tribe. Amazing how God works. If you have a chance look it up and read it.

When I was reading my Bible yesterday, I was in Ephesians chapter three. Verses twenty and twenty-one read this, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever Amen” (NKJV). These verses stood out to me. That Jesus is able to do more things then we can ever imagine. When I go to PNG I will see Him work in ways that I could never imagined here in America. He is so Awesome and Powerful beyond all understanding.
