The Papua New Guinean Discovery

Between June 2, 2005 and August 7, 2005 I went to Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators. It was a time when God confirmed that He wants me there for His work. At the time I am a student at Davis College in New York State studying and preparing to go back to PNG full time.

LATE APRIL PRAYER LETTER

Volume 1 Issue 6 Late April 2005

“A missionary is one who never gets used to the sound of heathen footsteps on their way to a Christless eternity.” ~Anonymous

Greetings in Holy name of Jesus Christ the Lord of lords and King of kings. Blessings to every one of you wherever you may be.

News, News, and More News I greet you with today. This might be a long prayer letter, but bear with me. Much to report on so let me start you off.

First off, this past Thursday (April 21) Mr. Treaster, my roommate Jack, and I went to the Wycliffe Associates Banquet here in Binghamton. It was a good turn out. The speaker talked about how computers have helped Bible Translation in more ways than one. Those who know me know that I enjoy computers. It was my kind of banquet. They talked about computer programs that they use to see the different tones in languages. Great information! WOW!

Next, some great news in that I have only $1100 left to raise! Praise the LORD!! Now that there are less than 40 days that is quite a praise!

Thirdly, a great prayer request was answered was that today (April 25) in that we found out as a group going to PNG that our visas have been granted to go to PNG from the embassy!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!! God is so awesome!!!

On my website, I include the information below:

I wanted to let everyone know some addresses if you would like to write me while overseas. First, a note about snail mail in PNG. It takes around 2 weeks for mail to get overseas. So if you would like to write me 2 weeks before I leave and send it to the address below feel free.

The mailing address is:
Corey Adams
DISCOVERY Box 62
SIL
Ukarumpa, EHP 444

If you would like to email me while I am overseas write to:

(In the Message line write: MESSAGE FOR COREY ADAMS)

Also for those who are getting emails from me I will be sending out one or two main ones from PNG. I have a friend here in the States who will forward it on to everyone else. I will not be able to write separate emails to everyone. I will look forward to sharing memories when I return in August.

Also on my website I include the following information that might be confusing so I will try to organize it better.

When I am overseas in PNG I will rely messages about how I am and how the trip is going through a friend. You will receive emails from the following address: corey_adams_pngdiscovery05@yahoo.com Still use the address: discovery05@sil.org.pg to relay messages to me. The address corey_adams_pngdiscovery05@yahoo.com will deliver my messages and prayer requests to you when I am overseas. Until June 1 please continue to email me at cadams@davisny.edu. The day of June 1 and 2 will be crazy. I will most likely be in Rochester by June 1 at night.

Keep me in prayer as I finish the race for this semester. Also a request for next semester, since I am trusting God for this trip I am also trusting Him for next semester, because I have no idea where the funds will come from. It is a step of faith, and I appreciate prayers for it. Even with financial aid, loans, and working I will not be able to cover some of the semester. Thank you for your prayers. I have included the address of Wycliffe for the rest of the funds, just in case you do not have it off hand. Thank you for all that everyone is doing. It is greatly appreciated and I know that I can see God’s hand in the midst of everything happen. It is a matter of TRUST in an AWESOME and AMAZING GOD. CREATOR of the UNIVERSE.

Wycliffe Bible Translators Accounting – Discovery P.O. Box 628200 Orlando FL 32862-8200 Please indicate that your donation is intended to support my trip by enclosing a separate note stating "for Corey Adams- Wycliffe Discovery-Papua New Guinea". Thank you for your time and your patience in reading such a long Prayer Letter. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. God Bless.

In Christ’s love,

Corey J. Adams
