The Papua New Guinean Discovery

Between June 2, 2005 and August 7, 2005 I went to Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators. It was a time when God confirmed that He wants me there for His work. At the time I am a student at Davis College in New York State studying and preparing to go back to PNG full time.

Mid-February Prayer Letter

“Rather than saying "God, here is my problem," we should put the problem into perspective by saying, "Problem, here is my God!” Anonymous.

Greetings in the matchless name of our Lord Jesus:

Thank you to everyone that has been praying and giving of your finances for my trip to Papua New Guinea. Both have been noticed by me, but more importantly by God. Thanks also to those who have visited my website. On the site, there are many more updates as well as all the Prayer Letters and also there are pictures from events. Some of the updates that I have put on the website I will tell you about here.

The first update is that some have asked about how to give financial means to my trip. If you would like your gift to be tax deductible, you will need to send your gift directly to Wycliffe Bible Translators following the steps below. You may donate other ways as well. Here are the four ways:

1. The first way to donate is that if you live near Davis College you can drop off a donation in person.

2. The second way to donate is that you can mail a donation to me at my school address: Corey Adams PO Box #53 Bible School Park, NY 13737

3. Thirdly, you can donate to Wycliffe Directly: Wycliffe Bible Translators Accounting – Discovery P.O. Box 628200 Orlando FL 32862-8200 Please indicate that your donation is intended to support my trip by enclosing a separate note stating "for Corey Adams- Wycliffe Discovery-Papua New Guinea". Please DO NOT write anything on the memo line of your checks. (This is the way to donate if you would like a tax exemption)

4. Finally, you can donate through PayPal. I added this feature to my blog for those who like to donate immediately with a credit card or a debit card. If you do not have a PayPal account, you may set one up when you click on the icon on my website. Click here for PayPal

Of course, if you have any questions feel free to send an email or call me and I will be happy to clarify.

The second update is some prayer requests for the trip:

  1. First, that I will keep my focus on Jesus Christ and that I will continue to grow in my love for my Savior.
  2. Second, that I will be able to balance my schoolwork with the planning and preparation for the trip.
  3. Thirdly, for the application process of my visa and the medical forms that will allow our group to go into the country.
  4. Fourthly, for the malaria pills that I need to take before I go to PNG that I will not have a negative reaction to them.
  5. Fifthly, for the finances for the trip, that the Lord will provide the money that I need.
  6. Sixthly, for the missionaries we as a group will be working with. That they will a blessing on us and that we, as a group, can be a blessing on them.
  7. Seventhly and finally, that God will use me on this trip, and show me how He wants to use me in PNG for His glory and His honor in the future. His will be done.

Well I believe that is all the updates that I have for now. I will have more on the website so be sure to visit it. I will be doing a report as well as pictures about my presentation at Scipio Baptist, which by the time most of you read this will have come and gone. There will be pictures on the website as well. I just want to say thank you once again to everyone who is helping me with this trip. Thank you especially to West Corners Baptist and their support for my trip.

I pray that everyone has a great day and that each and everyone continues in the faith of Jesus Christ our Lord. God Bless.

In Christ’s love,

Corey J. Adams

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good thing!”” (Romans 10.14-15 NKJV).
