The Papua New Guinean Discovery

Between June 2, 2005 and August 7, 2005 I went to Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators. It was a time when God confirmed that He wants me there for His work. At the time I am a student at Davis College in New York State studying and preparing to go back to PNG full time.

Enter the Bat Cave

It is interesting looking back at some of these pictures even at the ones I did not take or take part in. This picture is when Brendon and Sara went hiking with some Folopa people. I did not go because they thought I would "pun don" or fall down. One thing I did learn hiking in the Folopa region...take your shoes off and you do not fall down as easily. Take the worm medicine and walk bear foot.

Code Cutie was just commenting again on the bat chapter. I haven't gotten there yet, myself. I am at chapter 7. Wow! So you all trudged around with no shoes? What was the worm medicine? Was it an herb or a drug? Who provided it? Were you allowed to wonder about freely with the people? Did you have a hard time communicating with them?
