The Papua New Guinean Discovery

Between June 2, 2005 and August 7, 2005 I went to Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators. It was a time when God confirmed that He wants me there for His work. At the time I am a student at Davis College in New York State studying and preparing to go back to PNG full time.

Student Missions forum

From Thursday afternoon until this afternoon today (Saturday) a group from Davis College went down to ABWE headquarters in Harrisburg, PA. Even though I will not be going with ABWE, it was great to see what other Christian missionary groups are doing in the world. They have missionaries in PNG as well and it will be good to have other doctrinally sound people who the love the Lord working near where Wycliffe is. One of the speakers Don Trott spoke that this generation, my generation, will most likely experience greater numbers of martyrs for the cause of Christ. He asked, "Are you willing to give all for the cause of Christ." I had to think about it at night and yes, I am willing to give all for the name of Christ. Dr. Loftis spoke of Ethiopian missionaries that went to Pakistan to witness to the Muslims there. They were willing to give up all for Christ. They could kill them or anything, but Christ was going to be preached even in the Mosques. I want to be like the Ethiopian missionaries going into Pakistan. Boldness for the Gospel! WOW!! That is the faith that I want. And it only comes with trials and tribulations. You don't know what really faith is until everything else is gone. I want to be able to give all if the Lord calls me to do it. Going to PNG, this summer will be a chance for me to see the world of Bibleless people. Yet I know Satan will do everything in his power to try to destroy the unity of the group and each person's spiritual life on the field. He does not want people saved and we are going into the front lines to give the Bible so that many more generations will know about Christ. Satan hates that even more. Pray that I will keep my focus on Christ and that I will continue to be willing to give all for the cause of Christ. He is in charge. He is my King!
