The Papua New Guinean Discovery

Between June 2, 2005 and August 7, 2005 I went to Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators. It was a time when God confirmed that He wants me there for His work. At the time I am a student at Davis College in New York State studying and preparing to go back to PNG full time.

Back from Folopa

Our Time in Ukarumpa is winding down and so is our time in PNG.  It is really sad to be leaving so many wonderful people behind.  We are telling each other our stories and closing out our trip.  Keep me in prayer as it has been hard for me to coming to terms with leaving back for the States.  Thank you for all the prayers and support you have given to me.  It means more than I can express.  THANK YOU.  Well God Bless you and see you soon.

In Christ's love,
Corey

In Folopa for at least one more day. YES!!

The rain continues to fall and the fog to descend to the ground. The flight for today was canceled PRAISE THE LORD!!! It is good to be here in the village with the great people. Maybe we will be here forever. Well maybe not quite yet. They are working on a plan for getting us out of here tomorrow or by next week. Pray that the LORD's will be done. God Bless.

A time to be flexible

In PNG it is good to flexible. Take today for an example. We have 6 people in the Folopa village. The Anderson's and four Discovery students which includes me. 2 people Carol and a Discovery student were to go today at 3:05 PM this afternoon and myself and the other 3 were to go tomorrow. Well in PNG the weather changes from somewhat sun to rain and fog and so the plane was not able to come. So tomorrow all of us will have to go into 2 different planes at different times. So when you pray that the LORD's will be done sometimes it means changing your plans. His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. HIS WILL BE DONE. God Bless.

Great day in Folopa

Had to write of a wonderful day today. We just had a small dedication of the small books with Scripture in the Folopa language. It was really great to sing and pray and give testimonies out in the Bible house. It is going to be sad leaving this village and head back to NIPA in Ukarumpa. I might be going to Lae with Pastor Zumbek to go up into the mountains and see some Nabak villages. Hopefully it will happen. The weather has been great here in Folopa. Best in July I am told. Most be all the prayers of all the supporters for four discovery team. Neil and Carol said it was the best July weather they have seen in 33 years of being out here. Most of the time in July it rains, but we have been having great sunny days. We leave tomorrow. It will be sad. I am praying I will be able to return here in January of 2007 for the NT dedication. We will see if the LORD will provide the means to come back here. Well have a great day in the LORD today. God Bless
